Adult Social Groups, Union of Catholic Mothers
Union of Catholic Mothers
The Union of Catholic Mothers was introduced into Scotland in the 1940’s. All our members aim to follow the Christian ideal of marriage and family life. Our branch has both a spiritual and a social dimension. All meetings open with the U.C.M. prayer and we hold a short annual retreat. We also have fun!
Each year, money we raise goes to the Student Priest Fund and a different charity of our own choice. We occasionally invite speakers to our meetings. We also visit other ladies’ groups, both Catholic and non-Catholic in neighbouring towns. Each Christmas and June, we end our session with a meal out.
We’re always looking for new members and you will be made most welcome. There is no upper or lower age limits and you don’t have to be a mother to join us!
